Three cities, one private day
Slovakia is often reduced to its capital, but the country's story is written in its smaller cities too. This private day trip connects three of them: Bratislava, Trnava and Nitra.
In Bratislava we begin with the capital's landmarks and its position on the Danube. Trnava, once an important university town, has one of the most compact and pleasant historic centres in Slovakia. Nitra is one of the oldest cities in the country, with its castle hill above the town.
The distances are short and the driving easy, so the day stays relaxed. You will have time in each city rather than a quick look from the window.

Trnava was long one of the most important towns in the country.
Its historic centre is compact and easily walked, with churches, squares and old university buildings.
We stop here for a walk and time for coffee or lunch.

One of the oldest cities in Slovakia
Nitra is one of the oldest cities in Slovakia.
The town spreads below its castle hill, with its own quiet historic character.
It is a fitting last stop before the comfortable drive back.
